Yoga On High: 108 With Jessamyn Stanley

Join me in the yogic tradition of 108 Sun Salutations as an offering of surrender to the new year in collaboration with The Underbelly and We Go High NC. We’ll be taking plenty of breaks throughout this free yoga class, and I’ll be sharing modifications along the way.

108 has historically been regarded as a sacred number. It’s influence spans across mathematics, astrology, spirituality, religion, and history. 108’s significance touches on liberation, destiny, and the divine. It is also associated with spiritual completion. A yoga mala, or 108 sun salutations, is often done in transitional states. For example- new years, equinoxes, solstices, weddings, births, etc.

Don’t be intimidated. You don’t have to do a single sun salutation if you don’t want to.
